Ruth Ann Mieras, age 88, of West Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Ascension Providence Hospital in Novi. Ruth also has another great-grandchild on the way!
Ruth was born February 13, 1934, in Detroit, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ellsworth and Nita (Greenwald) Ledbetter. Ruth was introduced to John Huston Mieras on a blind date, and it was love at first sight! John and Ruth began dating, fell in love, and were married on August 7, 1954, sharing sixty-five wonderful years together until John’s passing on November 7, 2019. Throughout her life, Ruth loved taking care of her family as a homemaker. However, she was also a devoted Girl Scout Troop leader, often leading three separate troops at once! She was also a member of the Countryside Womens’ Club of West Bloomfield, and during her time in the organization, she served in a number of board positions. She was a dedicated volunteer at Henry Ford Maple Grove for several years. In her free time, Ruth could be found working on one of her sewing projects, spending time with her grandchildren, and going on trips with her husband, including many years traveling on their boat to the North Channel of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. She was a wonderful woman who was loved and impacted many lives throughout her life and will be greatly missed.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Nita; her husband, John; her son-in-law, Frederick Richter; and her two siblings: Elmer and Juanita.
In accordance with Ruth’s wishes, cremation will take place with no public memorial services. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to Henry Ford Maple Grove of West Bloomfield.
