Ruth,Kathy,Patsy,David,and Mary,so sorry for your loss of your mother. I remember the times I would spend a few weeks in the summer with all of you. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed dearly.
My mother Jeannie was best friends with yours and now they will be together again. I just lost my father in December.

I wanted to say to all my cousins that I am so sorry for the loss of Aunt Sadie, your mom.  I have such great memories of her... The many games she taught our family,..
One hen, two big ducks... of course card golf,  indian dice.. your flare shall I call it for telling a joke...and your deep love of your family... we will for sure miss you.... Keep the games going guys and the stories.  Love Pete, Judy and my kids..

      Gram, you were more than a grandma, truly you were a second mom to me. There are not words to describe how much you have impacted my life, and how much I will forever miss you! I am who I am because of you. I spent most of my childhood at your house being spoiled rotten of course by you and grandpa. Being a grandma to me, bought pretty much four more kids into the picture. It was part of the Routine to drive Myself, Teah , Briana, Kevin, and Beth from school to bowling every Monday with backpacks, lunchboxes, instruments, and 5 bodies the ride was tight. Not one of us can go bowling without thinking about you. Family two-some was a great league being on your team. I loved everyday after school, and all the weekends. All the head massages on car rides home, playing the alphabet game. Or every weekend the same story before i went to sleep in your bed with the TV blaring! (I will sleep with my TV on and blaring, most likely for the rest of my life.) All of my habits are so much like yours. 
      I'm glad I got to be there so much the last few months, I'm glad I could try to do my best to help you, though I know it will never compare to all you've done for me. I enjoyed so many of our dinners with you, my mom and I those 2 weeks Tommy was out of town. I'm so glad you met him, and got to spend time with him. And whether it be him or not only time will tell, I wish you could be there to see me get married, but I know you're in a better place free of suffering. I hope your pictures tell a story to my future children (far away future, don't worry) about who you were and how stinkin awesome you were! You were loved by so many, and that is your legacy, there is no one like you, you are one of a kind. 
     I will love you and remember you forever and ever, and then some. I'll remember every coloring contest, every grilled cheese, every laugh, every game, every fart :), every push in the right direction, every story, every car ride, every moment I spent with you. I will always be your love pie and I'll take care of my mom I promise.

Ruth, Kathy, Patty, David and Mary, it has been a long time since the days growing up on Geneva in Oak Park. I wanted to pass along my condolences personally, and also do so on behalf of my family. Both my parents have passed away, as has my brother Jim (thanks to Ruth for contributing a moving and funny remembrance for his memorial service in 2003). These unfortunate events can bring families closer. I hope the passing of your mother strengthens the bonds of love for all of you. Peace!

When I was little my brothers and sisters would tell me that I was adopted and that Uncle Dave and Aunt Sadie were my real parents. Now, I have to admit there were times that I really wished they were, mostly when I was fighting with my own parents or one of my siblings (LORI). As I got older of course I realized that this was not true and my dreams of having a different family were just that..dreams so I would have to be patient between visits from Aunt Sadie. Some of my best memories of the visits were the jokes. She always was so much fun to be with. She would ask you what was going on in your life. She really cared and wanted to listen to your thoughts and opinons even if you were a small voice in a big household. The jokes were a highlight and even though sometimes I was too young to get some of them, I would never leave the room because I always wanted to hear Uncle Dave say "Sadie!"  She always had a good one to tell and no one could deliver the punchline like her.
Last one she told me had a man by the name of Tonto Dombrowski in the punch line.....loved that one!! Thanks Aunt Sadie for making me feel special everytime I saw you and for loving all of us. A piece of my heart has gone with you. I will miss you. Hey,tell Robyn the one about Tonto....she will love it!! 

All my cousins..I am so sorry that you have to go through the heartache of losing the lady you all loved so much. Family was everything to her and she devoted her life to raising a wonderful one. Everyone of you have taken her lead and have done wonderful things with your families. I know she was proud of each of you. Please know that you all have my deepest sympathy. 
You were all so lucky to have her!!

My biggest regret is that we only met and knew Sadie for a few short years. But even in that short time it didn't take a genius to figure out she was one-of-a-kind. Its a rare person that can relate to young and old alike and Sadie had that ability. I laugh and cry at the same time as I read the other guest book entries and thank 
God I got to meet Sadie Gonynor even if for a short time.

I was never formally introduced to sadie, although I feel as if I knew her. I can say with confidence she has left on Earth a legacy. Her legacy that she lived, and passed down through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a unique, loving, generous and quirky woman that could put you in your place or bring you to your knees in sidesplitting laughter. I know this only because of the many stories I have been told, and found myself questioning my outlooks on life, or simply smiling at her unusual, but always efficient, way of handling any situation. I know she will be deeply missed, and her loved ones will temporarily feel a terrible void. I also know that a personality as strong as Sadies will not leave such a void for long. To Patty amd Sarah, your mom, grandmother is a fantastic women who WILL continue to resurface throughout your many stages of life. And I am sure she will always make her presence known, maybe through a lone rasin on a spoon, or a late night video game advertisement. I am truly sorry for your loss, but I know you have gained a lifelong guardian angel.

Aunt Sadie you will always be in my heart,with all the games we played, your jokes, you brought joy to a lot of people. I hope you are enjoying the golden streets in heaven with your brother, sister, and your Mom, and Uncle Dave.  Can't wait to see you all some day in heaven.
To my cousins my deepest sincere sympathy to all of you and your children. I know you will all miss here very much.

The angels up in heaven are having a party and they are all crowded around Sadie Gonynor.  She's telling jokes, leading games and making them feel special.  Even amongst the angels, Sadie stands out!  Sadie changed the atmosphere of any room she entered.  I admired her for always speaking her mind.  She was never unkind, but always honest.  She raised five amazing kids and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She understood the value of her family and friends and loved them with her whole heart.  Anytime I hear a funny joke I will always think of Sadie and smile.  I feel blessed to have known such a unique and remarkable woman.  I'll miss you Mrs. G.   Love, Marylou

Miss Sadie, you were the best neighbor.  Our children loved seeing you outside when you were taking a walk or tending to your garden.  You were always smiling and always had a kind word to say.  We will miss you!

From the first time we met and enjoyed? each others company I learned that Sadie said what she meant and meant what she said. If she found she was in error, she was quick to admit it. If I was in error, she was quick to point it out. She made me laugh. I could never take anything personally. She treated everyone equally and as Dave pointed out, Sadie always said "be grateful, there are people less fortunate". I always felt such closeness with Sadie, knowing that she was open and honest. Some might find fault in that but I found it comforting to be with her, knowing her honest nature in ALL things. I will always have our memories and know she is with Jesus as her faith was strong and heart felt. She and I, God willing, will catch up when we meet again. I celebrate her passing and I just might take the opportunity to fill her jet tub with hot water. She might never forgive me, but she'll see the humor. Until we meet again Sadie, Jon is among those that had no choice in loving you.

Sadie the GRAND LADY I will never forget the laughs and the good times you brought to me and everyone else around you. GOD speed.  Always to love you.

         Well, I think I can speak on behalf of everyone else that I never wanted to imagine you not in my life, however, I realize that you are all around me in all that I encounter ...Any time I come across a good joke, peanut butter with crackers, crossword puzzles, chocolate milk, bowling, etc...I will remember you always and at countless times in my life..Anytime I feel like complaining about something, I will always think of how you told me to think of others that were less fortunate than myself. I feel graced to have been blessed with such an amazing woman like you for a Grandmother and I will continue to live my life to make you proud. Laughter. When I think of Aunt Sadie it will always be with a smile and a chuckle. As kids and as adults we would wait her arrival and soon we would be in a huddle. She was the quarterback setting up the joke. Her method for telling a joke was without a doubt just as funny as the joke or rather the joke wouldn't be half as funny without her telling it. She brought such joy with her to our house on Brook Street and she meant so very much to us that you can say we have been blessed to have loved her and to have been loved by her. To my Michigan cousins-each time you laugh you will honor "Ma". Keeping you close in spirit through the days ahead.

 I went home for Christmas this year that was a present from my daughter Sarah.  It was the best gift I could have ever received. It was very sad to leave you knowing in my heart that it would be the last time I would ever see you. I kissed you goodbye and whispered to you " I love you  Mom and will see you on the other side.  We will all be okay because you raised us to be strong. "  Whenever any of us would be faced with challenges that either we created or were beyond our control she always quoted " through adversity comes strength "  
Sadie , my Mom, was a true force to everyone she met and shared herself and her great humor and wisdom with many people over the years. Sadie was always popular with young and old but was very young at heart. 
I remember coming home at night as a teenager and there she would be on the front porch sitting on her throne ( lawn chair ) with her audience of our friends or boyfriends telling jokes and/or giving advice to the mostly brain dead teens that we were. She is truly one of the last Grande Dames !!!!

My grandma was possibly the most perfect person to have ever graced God's earth.  She was loving, sincere, generous, compassionate, friendly, engaging, honest, hillarious, and possibly the most fun grandmother any one could possibly be lucky enough to call their own.  Your 'Jeffy' will miss you tremendously grandma, but you will live in my heart forever.

Ruth and family, God's peace to you as you grieve the loss of your mother. May you find comfort in the truth of the Gospel promise that whoever believes in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, has eternal life! In this, as God's wonderful Word declares, we do not weep as those with no hope. We have hope...and the fullness and completeness of this hope is Sadie's at this very moment! My Mom was truly one of a kind.  She was the heart and soul of our family and the reason why we were a family.  She was loved by everyone she met.  She was able to listen to others and touched the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
