

Sally Brewer Russell, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Bloomfield Hills, MI, at the age of 87. Born on February 15, 1939, in Sewickley, PA, Sally's life was a testament to the power of nurturing and kindness that she spread generously throughout her community.
Sally, the beloved wife of the late Parvin, was a loving mother who left a legacy of warmth and guidance in her children Jim and his wife Mary, Rick, Scott, and Matt and his wife Karyll. She was a cherished grandmother to Peggy and her husband Anthony Pinto, Tommy and his wife Kelly Russell, Patrick, Anna, Elizabeth, Sophie, Katie, Ellie, Karys, and Jocelyn Russell. Her role as a great-grandmother to Mary Pinto, Charlotte Pinto, and James Russell brought her immense joy and pride. Sally was also a dear sister to Thomas and his wife Penny Brewer, and Dick (predeceased) and his wife Kathy Brewer.
Her family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the Westacres Community and Orchard Lake Community Church Presbyterian whose love and support were a constant source of comfort and strength to Sally and her family.
Sally's passion for caring for others was evident in her professional life as well. She dedicated many years to a fulfilling career as a registered nurse, working part-time and retiring from St. Joseph's Hospital and Pontiac General Hospital. Her gentle touch and empathetic nature were a comfort to countless patients and their families.
A woman of many talents and interests, Sally found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an accomplished knitter, an artist of personalized greeting cards, and had a deft hand at needlepoint and quilting. Sally's love for writing was reflected in the short poems she penned, which often illuminated the beauty and complexity of everyday life. She served her church community with a welcoming smile as a greeter and contributed her skills to the prayer shawl committee.
An avid reader, Sally enjoyed the culinary world through her extensive collection of cookbooks, reading each one from cover to cover. Her curiosity about the world was limitless, and she was always eager to learn and grow, a trait that kept her mind sharp and full of knowledge.
Sally will be remembered as a loving, faith-filled, and intelligent woman whose presence uplifted those around her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sally Brewer Russell's life was a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, faith, and wisdom—a life truly well-lived.
A memorial visitation will be held at Orchard Lake Community Church, Presbyterian on May 2, 2026 from 10-11 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
