There are so many fond memories of my years living next to Pat and Earl on Round Lake. As a kid we learned to play quietly during the day because Earl had midnight shift and slept during the day. It didn't limit our fun in anyway. Earl always inspired me with his continuous drive to make things, showing that there is nothing that you can't do if you give it go. Sail Boats, Go Carts, Houses all were part of the experience. He was always there with a smile to help with the challenges on the street.
I wish Pat and the rest of the family the best and have them in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless

Earl and Patricia's "other" home, their winter home, was in Gun Bay, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, where they had many Caymanian friends among their neighbours. It was a very special place. Sunday afternoon at Mermaid Springs saw a gang of people around the dining table, challenging one other at chickenfoot and other games, to be followed by one of Patricia's fantastic teas, which Earl (the Cookie Monster!) particularly enjoyed. My husband Stewart and I have so many happy memories of Earl. He was very special to all of us and we won't see his like again.

I considered "Mr. Smith" my other father. He had the most beautiful twinkling blue eyes and lived up to his reputation of being a Cookie Monster!
After moving out of the area, I enjoyed coming back for visits to catch up and take the requisite picture of he and "Mrs. Smith". I will miss him dearly, but know he is now reunited with family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace and may God keep his family strong.

I didn't know Earl well but I saw him many times playing the hand drum with our local community band. Earl enjoyed those times greatly. I also got to see some of Earl's handy work around our community, like his fabulous modifications to his golf cart. I'm sure heaven has received a new handy man.

My thoughts and prayers to his entire family.
