Terry was born on October 16, 1947, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Kalamazoo High School and entered the United States Army in November of 1966. While fighting for his country in Vietnam he was a member of the 44th Medical Brigade where he saved multiple lives. He earned the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
In 1985 he met Colleen at a wedding, they fell in love and were married in 1986, at Mandon Lake Community Church in White Lake Michigan. Throughout their many years of marriage and raising their family they enjoyed traveling to the family cabin in Glennie, home renovation, family trips, their children’s functions, and spending quiet time alone together.
Terry was an amazing Father and always made spending time with both of his children a priority. He loved to tell them stories of his life, especially his time in Vietnam. He took every opportunity to be supportive of both kids' interests. He was a cub scout leader and as a nature lover, loved the camping trips. Watching theatre, choir and sporting events made him very proud.
Terry loved to read, track genealogy, and animals, and he especially loved helping others. He worked tirelessly for veterans and helped everyone he could get what they were entitled to. He was an active member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars post 1008. You could find him at the post with his friends, sharing stories and helping anyone who needed it.
