

Alfred "Al" W. Lindberg Jr., age 90, retired ELCA Pastor of six Kansas parishes and avid sports fan, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Al was born on February 20, 1926, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Alfred Walter Sr. and Irene (Elmquist) Lindberg. On September 10, 1949, he married Louise H. Hovet, in Bemidji, MN. Al was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Gladys; and a brother, Ron Lindberg. Survivors include: his wife of 66 years, Louise Lindberg; children, Daniel (Robyn) Lindberg, Kechi, Rosie (Rich) Harder, Bel Aire, Mary (Jim) Garrelts, Wichita, Joy (Roger) Boldridge, Overland Park; 12 grandchildren, Benjamin, Rachel, Katy, Jeff, Ron, Scott, Mark, Brittany, Ceara, Corinne, Chanelle, and Randall; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Mark (Leslie) Lindberg, NH. Visitation 9 to 9:30 a.m.; Celebration of Life service 11:00 a.m., both Monday, August 8, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5356 N. Hillside, Wichita.
