HAVILAND- Alvin Lee Crisp, son of F. D. and Elsie (Trotter) Crisp arrived at his forever home on Dec. 6, 2021. Alvin was born Feb. 7, 1933 in a sod house near Richfield, KS and grew up in several KS and eastern CO towns including Haviland and Hutchinson, graduating from Hutchinson High in 1951. He married Loretta Asher on Aug. 28, 1952. Alvin served in the US Army during the Korean War and began farming in Kiowa County near Haviland in 1954, where he was a pioneer in irrigation for over 50 years. He was a rural mail carrier for over 30 yrs. for the Haviland Post office, logging over a million miles around his route. Alvin was a faithful community and church servant-leader, including many years of service on various local boards and over 15 years of weekly nursing home ministry in Haviland. He is survived by his wife, Loretta, two sons: John (Ramona) of Americus, KS, and David (Desiree) of Andover, KS; two grandsons: Patrick (Jana) of Belmont NC, and Brett (Jessica) of Greensboro NC, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sat. Dec. 11, 2pm at Haviland Friends Church, with burial in Haviland Cemetery.
