Annie built her life with steady diligence and quiet excellence, marked by a deep sense of responsibility and care for others. A hard-working business owner and operator of Colortyme for over 35 years, she took great pride in her work and was honored when their franchise was named franchise of the year. Her thoughtful attention and kind-hearted spirit were evident in the way she led, served, and supported those around her.
Family was everything to Annie. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Prothro; her parents, Joseph, and Florence; her children, Lynnie Talley and Melvin Lucas; great granddaughter Mykel Cox and seven siblings. She is survived by her son Barry (Stephanie) Talley, daughters Kathy Talley and Tisha (Lonnie) Farbro, stepchildren Jamey Forney, Rhonda McNaught and Randy Prothro, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Annie’s home and table reflected the love she carried for her family. She loved cooking, and she was cherished for the warmth she offered so naturally—often expressed in the joy of gathering others together, including as a memorable pool party hostess. Whether in everyday moments or special celebrations, she made people feel welcome, remembered, and cared for.
A lifelong member of Woodland Lakes Community Church in Wichita, Annie’s faith and commitment to her church community remained a steady part of her life.
