Kathy was a natural when it came to children. She spent most of her life as a daycare provider, and was a loving mother. As life took its turns, and she needed to enter assisted living, she was anxious to leave behind relationships that she had developed over many years. However, she was determined to make new friends, and she developed deep friendships with several of the residents there. Through these friendships, she developed a passion for painting.
The car show community was a big part of her life. She and her husband Chuck would attend the car shows together, usually driving in their Buick Reatta that they would shine to a competition glow.
Kathy enjoyed sewing a quilting as well. Some of her fondest memories and those of her family are the times that she would quilt with her sister, Nancy. Kathy sewed throughout her life even teaching her grandchildren those skills.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck Kerls; siblings, Nancy Calvert and Judy Dewbre; and many friends.
Kathy is survived by her children, Chris (Bobbie) Arnold, Misti Rohde and Michaela Kerls ; a myriad of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends that loved her dearly.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in her memory to Kansas Humane Society as she was a lover of dogs.
