First and foremost, Dan loved his family. All his family. And yes, that includes the dogs. Dan’s occupation for most of his adult life was predominately in technology as a developer. He was a premier car enthusiast, predominantly MOPAR. He had a passion for restoring old MOPAR muscle cars, with an emphasis on the “need for speed.” He was an avid car show participant with his 1970 Dodge Charger and was involved in local car clubs like Muscle Inc and Wichita Area Mopars. In addition, he was also a boat enthusiast and that “need for speed” was prevalent in that passion as well. If he asked about your next oil change, you knew he cared about you, and maybe had some unsolicited advice to offer.
Another interest of his that soon became a passion was for holiday yard decorating. Yes, maybe a little out-of-the-box for him, but he was good at it. Later, he became very involved in his youngest children’s musical endeavors, particularly percussion and drum corps. He was always volunteering himself and his truck for events and competitions. Dan loved sharing his passions with his family and friends, whether it was boating, camping, drag racing, showing off his impeccable holiday yard creations, his new favorite movie or TV show, or bragging about his children and grandchildren. The man will be missed, and he was so very much loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and step-daughter, Melissa Shelite.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Keazer) McClintock; children, Ryan (Jennifer) McClintock, Nicole (Onttu) Lindeman, Bryce McClintock, Kerri Shelite, Jennifer (Patrick) Fromm, David Shelite, Taylor McClintock, Connor McClintock; grandchildren, Elijha, Kiera, Onttuu, Hakan, Christian, Madison, Breckyn, William, Hunter, Shyanna, Allie, Abigail, and Lucas; and brothers, David (Becky) McClintock and Doug (Sheila) McClintock.
