Edna Irene Quier was born March 17, 1941 in Hennessey, Oklahoma, the daughter of Palmer R. and Dora A. (Paulsen) Quier. Her family moved to Goddard, KS when she was 6 years old, and then to nearby Belle Plaine, KS three years later. They moved to Wichita in 1952.
On November 8, 1957, Edna was united in marriage to Robert Franklin McCorkle when she was 16, they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this November 8th. This marriage was blessed with three boys Mike, Don, and Mark.
After their marriage, Edna worked in the restaurant industry for a few years and in retail sales.
Elvis Presley was a favorite of Edna’s, listening to his music. She was an avid Jeopardy watcher for over 38 years, and Days of Our Lives for 40 years. She loved time spent with her family and especially her grandbabies. Edna loved decorating for the holidays. She also enjoyed watching the entire Fast and Furious Series.
Preceding Edna in death are her parents, her siblings Frieda Ruth Quier, Fred Paul Quier, and Wilma Mae Michlitsch.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Robert “Bob”, her sons Michael McCorkle, Donald McCorkle and his wife Michelle, and Mark McCorkle and his wife Karen. Surviving grandchildren are Breea, Camilla, Tanya, Alexander Brooke, Clinton and his wife Stacy, and Kelsey and her husband Darrin Wilbert. Great-grandchildren Jordan, Ryatt, Winnifred “Winnie”, Felix, Maren, and Annie. She is also survived nieces, nephews, and many loving friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
