My life is full of memories of Jim. I really miss him and truly cherish our memories from childhood till his death. Peace until we meet again. 

A year has went by & your birthday has come & gone-still missing you just as much, buddy........as the seasons change, I am reminded of how much you've always reflected on them.  The spring means good fishing, the summer is boating & the end of summer is dove season, as fall comes on we think of pheasant and guail & with winter it's deer and waterfowl.  You were our guide & our shared passion of nature, hunting, boating & the beautiful outdoors..... I feel you everywhere in the trees and the sunsets & it will never be the same without you.   Thank you for always including me in the great outdoors you were so passionate about & so loved, I miss you everyday  ...............  xoxoxoxox

My friend this is most likely the last message I will write on this guest book. I however will not stop thinking about a lifetime of fun and enjoyment we had together before you left us. I imagine we will be laughing and having fun together again someday and it will be like the blink of an eye. I miss you my friend and will never in my lifetime have a friend that I could even come close to sharing and being as close as I could be with you. Peace

My sweet Jimmy.......there isn't a day that I don't think of you & miss you.  I can't believe it has been almost a year since you left us & yet it seems like yesterday that we were laughing and dancing at the cabin.  My heart is aching as I hear of your belongings going away but I know that I have the one thing that was the most precious to you & that's lil Kelly.  I feel that I have a little bit of you left with her and for that, I am so grateful.  She lays in the forest alot and looks out at the pond & I wonder if she isn't thinking of you & whitehall bay...God I miss you buddy, we all do....you and your love was so HUGE! Well I have seen my friend leave and now I watch as his belongings begin to disappear. His spirit is still strong and he lives in my heart and soul. I used to long to be in an area that I loved and had so much feeling for but now my desire to be there is no longer strong. I have lost the loved ones that were in the area and it is just not the same anymore. I miss my buddy and it seems like a bad dream that he is no longer at the cabin so I can drop by and say hi. Peace my friend till we meet again and we will meet again I am sure.

I still have not had the courage to go out to fall river. I know it will be very hard because of all the good times and wonderful memories of Jim. I feel him around me everyday. I think of him when I hear music, hear the birds, see a deer, it seems like something triggers my feelings for Jim every day. It is not easy to say good bye to a person that has been such an intricate part of your life.

My heart is just as heavy today as it was the day I heard Jim had died. I find myself getting ready to call Jim and see what he is doing on almost a daily basis. I look out my window every morning and the first thing I think about is Jim. I really miss my friend.

I still find myself thinking about calling Jim, I just am having a  hard time understanding and believing this has really happened.

Jim and I were about 16 we went out pond jumping hunting ducks. We went to a pond on the peacock place. Parked the car and began to sneak over the damn when we came up the pond had one mallard duck on it. It rose up and hovered in the morning sunlight about twenty feet in front of us we both shot and it flew off. We looked at each other and thought we hit it dead on. We rose to the top of the damn and laughed and began to talk when all of a sudden the duck fell right on Jims shoulder. It was a head shot and it flew straight up in the air as far as it could and died and fell straight down on Jim it cracked us up.

I met Jim while working at Cessna as a buyer.  We had a very long and sucessful business relationship over the many years and he became a very good friend of mine as a result of this. He would always help me if I had a problem if he could. I always found him to be fair, honest and above all to tell it like it is.  I will miss him very much as I am sure all others will also.

One weekend in October Jim and I went to Fall River and we were just young teenagers. On Saturday morning Jim and I went to the lake to hunt and had no luck. So he got out the binoculars and we went to scout out the ducks. We found out they were circling the twin silos and it was all flooded. He figured we could put on waders and go out and get in the trees and wait. When we got there the next day it was wild and took morning to figure out where the ducks were they were out in the middle of the trees feeding on the shallow bottom. We went home and came back in the afternoon and started on the south side and walked north. Jim had planned it out exactly. We started getting one mallard after another. The thing that was embedded in my mind forever was as the day ended and the sun was setting in the dark we were still blasting those ducks, Jim looked at me and said I wish this day would never end. That was the kind of weekends we use to have in Fall River as we grew up, one of the last conversations we had Jim told me that when we were 14 everyone wanted to be 18 or older and he used to say not me I want to stay the age we are now. We had it all. We were the lucky ones for sure.

One fourth of July when we were just kids.Jim and I were at Whitehall bay he was bragging about having over ten thousand firecrackers and I had maybe a couple of thousand. Well he was unraveling a package of one thousand in his lap and putting them in a coffee can I reached over and lit the other end and they went off in his lap. He was so mad he got a big ten ball roman candle and said I was going to get it. I ran as fast as I could but Jim was a faster runner. he lit the roman candle and aimed it right at my back all of a sudden I heard a boom and then jim screamed and fell on the ground the roman candle had back fired and shot him instead of me. We laughed about that for years.

What I would give for one more day with you, my sweetie.

Jim, I can't miss this opportunity to say something to you without having to hear you interrupt or say something back! From our first meeting I liked you, in fact over the years I've grown to love you for just you being you. You carry many titles---son, brother, friend, grouch, boss, neighbor, hunter, fisherman and many more----but for me it is a honor to call you "friend". Whether hunting, fishing  or just visiting or hanging out you were always entertaining. Your leaving has created a certain void in ours and many others lives, but while you were with us you gave us countless memories of which can sustain us until we meet again.

One thing I really remember about Jim is when I was about 9 years old and my dad, Papa Phil, and I went out to his cabin. We took his boat out on the lake that was flooded. We went all over the place. We went into fields where we couldn't normally get. I got to drive the boat all by myself! I thought that was the coolest thing ever! I also just loved going deer and quail hunting with him too! He was the BEST Cook! He could never make a meal that wasn't awesome!
    He will always be in my prayers!

   What I remembered most about Jim was that he always had a good home cooked meal every time I went out to visit him. The first vehicle I ever drove was his green truck. I remember going hunting with Jim and Kelly and learning to shoot my first gun. Another time we went hunting for deer antlers, but found none, so he gave me one of his, with the skull and everything! Jimmy would always make sure I was comfy and cozy when I stayed out there. If I ever had a question I could count on him to answer it, so I could understand the answer. Jim was like a grandpa to me he was always so loving, kind, and gentle. 
   Jim will be in my thoughts and prayers until we meet again.

Rest in Peace, Jim. The lake will never be the same without you. You were a good neighbor to all of us on Sunflower Hill, you will be missed.
