

James “Jim” Ronald Miles, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 18, 2017. Born on January 14, 1938, in Winfield, he was the youngest of four sons born to Roy and Anna (Brant) Miles. Jim retired from outdoors sales in 2003 and was known locally as the “light bulb man.” Jim and Alice (Morgan) Miles were married for 38 years. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Jim was preceded by his parents and two of his brothers: Bob Miles and Don Miles. In addition to his wife, Alice, he is survived by the following: daughters Michelle (Mitch) Crumpton of Manhattan, KS, and Dawnelle (Keith) Marshall of Arlington, TX, and son Brent Miles of Arlington, TX; grandchildren Zac and Bailey Crumpton, Kelsey and Logan Marshall, Macy and Kylie Miles; brother Stanton Miles, Rockport, TX; and the mother of his children, Barbara Miles, Manhattan, KS.
Viewing from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Hillside Funeral Home West. Visitation 9 a.m.-10 a.m. with the Celebration of Life Service starting at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, September 25, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2801 W. 15th St. N., Wichita, KS 67203 with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Asbury United Methodist Church or the Southwestern College Athletic Basketball Department.
