James M. Parker, 81, owner of JM Parker Construction Company, Inc., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather who put family first. He was a long time member of Central Community Church, enjoyed traveling and gave many hours of his time to help and mentor others. Preceded by parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and his son Ronald. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Nila, children: Deanna (Tom) Knapp, Randy (Rose) Parker, John Parker, Lori (Chuck) Wagner and Steve Parker, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim made a lasting impression on so many people, they also considered him "Dad". Visitation with family present 6-8pm, Thurs. Aug. 30th at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th. Funeral Service, 10am, Friday, Aug. 31st at Central Community Church, 6100 W. Maple with burial to follow at Greenwoood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita, KS 67202 or Central Community Church Motivators Class, 6100 W. Maple, Wichita, KS 67209.

I have way to many memories to share , however I'm so very blessed to have known you more then half my life ...you were always the dad I neved had you stepped in and loved me along with your own children ...you showed me what a real father is supposed to be and I'm beyond words blessed you called me daughter ...after all these years I found the love of my life in your son .. He is so very much like you dad from his since of humor to his ornery grin he I will always have a part of you .love you Dad your daughter FOREVER lori .later

I worked at South city restaurant James and his family came in alot I enjoyed being able to serve a wonderful family.
