Jeremiah was a happy, loving soul. Despite the disabilities he faced in life he never let them define who he was or how he lived that life. Jeremiah never met a stranger and EVERYONE grew to love him. He greeted everyone with a “Hi! How are you” and a ton of enthusiasm. Jeremiah was a part of the Rainbow’s Community since birth and we consider them family. He graduated from USD 259 with his high school diploma in May 2025.
On October 3, 2026, Jeremiah A. Smith-Peterson joyfully and peacefully entered into his eternal home.
Those waiting to greet Jeremiah at Heavens Gate include; Grandfathers; Charles Smith, Alfred Brown, George Johnson. Grandmother; Rozella Peterson. Uncles; Michael Smith and Leon Mitchell. Aunt; Juanita Ellis and “beloved cousin,” Elias Powell.
Those left to cherish Jeremiah’s memories are his mother and father; Toni and Demetrius Peterson, Siblings; Sisters, Erica Smith, Sara Smith, Hannah Smith, Taneika Peterson. Brothers; D’Andre Peterson, Dominic Smith And Demetrius Peterson II, Grandmother; Shirley Brown and Linda Kabuthia. Jeremiah is also survived by a host of Aunt and uncles and a ton of friends.
Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203 on October 16, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place also at Hillside Funeral Home West, on October 17, 2026, at 11:00 am.
