Joan Martz, age 85, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. Joan was born May 18, 1929 in rural Haven, KS, the daughter of LeRoy and Josephine (Raymond) May. On September 10, 1948, Joan married Walter Martz in Haven, KS. She was a loving, dedicated mother and homemaker. Joan loved music, laughter, and travel, passing all her loves and talents to her descendants. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer Martz; siblings, Bruce and Everett May, and Virginia Haines. Survivors include: husband of 66 years, Walter; sons, Steve (Anita), Tim (Cathy), all of Wichita, David (Sue), Boise, ID; grandchildren, Adam, Chelsea, Lisa, Ben, Emily, Kyler, Max, and Allison; 13 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, at Woodland UMC, 1100 W. 15th St., Wichita. Memorials have been established with Woodland UMC and Alzheimer’s Association. Services are entrusted to Hillside Funeral Home – West.
