

Growing up he had visions of traveling the world, he also was an avid reader of magazines about space travel, such as Jules Verne. He was also an avid follower of the moon missions and in the most recent years the missions to Mars. He was no ordinary young man. He also had the vision to travel to see the Great Pyramids of Egypt.
His vision became a reality. He was able to travel the world while working in Iran for Anaconda Mining Company, the same company where he worked in Chile.
Juan was a hard working man, who traveled the world for his career in mining. He was always there to support his family, who meant everything to him. He loved nothing more than time with family, especially when there was excellent food too. He was a generous and kind man who always gave to charity and set the example for his children and grandchildren of who you should be in this world.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Mercedes Garolla Vallejo, step-father Samuel Casas; siblings, Samuel Valentin Casas Garolla, Roland Casas Garolla, Fernando Casas Garolla, Ruth Casas Garolla and many friends.
Juan is survived by his wife Abigail Garolla and children, Jacqueline Garolla, Mercedes Garolla Spatz, and Juan Miguel (Wilhelminne) Garolla; grandchildren, Brittany (Stephen) Lefebvre and Mercedes (Matthew) Rufle; great-grandchildren, Caius Garolla, Abigail Caylor, Coyote Kulp, and Orion Rufle; siblings, Mirtha Casas Garolla and Norma Casas Garolla; and the families who opened their homes to our family when we arrived in the United States: The Ross Family, the Lineback family, and the Santander Family and many extended family members and friends that he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Hillside Funeral Home West, located at 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203. His funeral service will take place following visitation, beginning at 11:00 AM, at the same location. Committal will follow immediately at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. US-54, Wichita, KS 67209.
