Her parents would have another little girl, Caren, a little sister for her to enjoy and grow up with. Eventually her family moved to San Diego California where she graduated from Madison High School. She would go on to Mesa College where she graduated with her Bachelors in Child Development, which she was amazing at. Annalisa notes, “My mom has always been a teacher of life to children, and for as long as I can remember she has been teaching infants. It was her calling. She worked childcare for over 30 years and was darn good at it.”
She loved cruising around town with her friends in nice cars. She also loved owls, and sunflowers. While she loved music all around, she gravitated toward Ozzy Osborne, Metallica and Madonna.
Annalisa continues, saying, “Everything I can remember my mom ever telling me she just shined in whatever she did in life. Karolyn excelled at being a parent. She was meant to be a mom with such a warm and giving soul. She taught us to always be humble and nice. Eventually she became a grandma where she also just felt like this was how life was supposed to be. We thought she was a great mom - she was an even better grandma. No one would ever question she loved her grandchildren.”
Zayne adds, “My mom was the definition of starlight. Her heart and soul were so precious. There was never a time you didn’t see her greet you with a smile, and her signature was her smile. I’ve always looked up to my mom like a superhero: like I could literally go to her for anything and with even just a hug or a smile I could just be so relieved from whatever I was going through. She was literally my best friend, and I am a proud mommas boy because I could never be the person or father I am today without the same love she gave me. My mom was always a strong, independent, hard-working person. My whole life I’ve always seen her work hard, and I always prayed I could retire her one day and return all of the blessings she gave me over the years. My mom will always be remembered as such a touching and amazing person. The things she did to go above and beyond, to try and help any way she could even when she needed help herself - she always put everyone before herself. That was just built in to her, and she didn’t feel right without at least trying to help others first. Through tough times and challenges Karolyn always figured out a way through it. The red silky hair and bright aura she brought to the room was such a blessing, as if an angel walked through the door and lit everyone up! The dorky little things she loved to do to make people laugh and smile I will always remember and treasure and I’m sure a lot of people that came across Karolyn could 100% agree. ‘I love you with all my hearts’ was our saying. I know the journey for us has paused but for her it just started.”
When Karolyn was 21 she had her first child Annalisa, who was the first daughter, granddaughter and niece. She soon followed with Zayne, the first boy, grandson and nephew. And last, but certainly not least is Evin. He was “Mom’s little mini me.” She is survived by her children, Annalisa and her husband Armando, Zayne and his wife Yvette, and Evin; 7 grandchildren, Dominik, Felixx, Khloe, Kristian, Andrew, Vanessa, and Myla; her sister Caren and niece Talisa; and her Fur Baby, Snuggles.
“You can rest now. Relax and just breathe. We promise to make you proud.”
