

Kathy was at her home with family when the Lord called her home.
She was born December 28, 1964, in Niles, Michigan. In 1989, Kathy met her husband, Kent. Kathy and Kent started their journey together March 9,1991. They had a total of four children together:
April ( BJ) Knudson, Eric (Rebecca) Stovall, Ash Moeder, and Aaron (Isabella) Moeder.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Brandon, stepfather, Hub Hesseltine and father and mother in-law, Rudolph and Laurine Moeder.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kent Moeder; mother, Elizabeth Hesseltine of Niles, Michigan; brother Marc Brandon and stepsister Laura York; and 5-grandchildren, plus many aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews; and her love of animals, including Tucker, Zeke and Grand Puppers.
Kathy's love for helping people took her to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she started her nursing career. When UAF stopped their program after one year, Kathy put her dreams on hold. After moving to Wichita, Kansas, and raising children, she returned to college at WSU in Wichita at the age of 43 and finished her Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 2009. Kathy had an outstanding career at Wesley Medical Center until she was forced to retire for health reasons in 2020.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Hillside Funeral Home West, located at 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203. The Prayer of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6 PM that evening at the same location. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Christ The King Catholic Church, located at 4411 W. Maple St., Wichita, KS 67209. Committal will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Kathy will be missed by many!
