HAVILAND- Loretta Beth (Asher) Crisp, daughter of Charles and Isabel (Elliot) Asher arrived at her forever home on Aug. 9, 2022. Loretta was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Haviland and grew up on the family farm three miles west of town with her beloved older sisters, Shirley and Betty. A member of the 1951 class of Haviland High School, she studied briefly at Friends University before marrying her childhood sweetheart, Alvin L. Crisp, on Aug. 28, 1952. Loretta was a hard-working farm wife and mother and also served as the study hall monitor and pep club sponsor at Haviland High School for several years. Led by a strong faith and desire to share the love of Jesus with young children, she taught a children’s Sunday school class at Haviland Friends Church for over 40 years and later led the children’s Sunday school at the Greensburg Bible Baptist Church for over 20 years. Loretta joyfully loved the Lord, her husband, her family, friends and neighbors, and her hometown of Haviland. Countless individuals were impacted by her generous service and kind spirit. Loretta is survived by two sons: John (Ramona) of Americus, Kan., and David (Desiree) of Andover, Kan.; two grandsons: Patrick (Jana) of Belmont, N.C., and Brett (Jessica) of Greensboro, N.C., and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday Aug. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Haviland cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church of Americus, KS., Haviland Friends Church, Rose Hill Friends Church or the Haviland Heritage Foundation.
