Maria Leticia Bermejo Garza

Maria Leticia Bermejo Garza passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Pasadena, TX, following a brave battle with cancer. She was 56 years of age. Maria Leticia Garza was born on December 30, 1965 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the daughter of Abdon Garza and Antonia Rosales. She has been a resident of Wichita since 2004 moving from Chicago where she lived for 17 years. Maria was united in marriage to Artemio Bermejo in Chicago on November 30, 1991, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. They were happily married for 30 years. Maria worked as a brazer for Johnsons Control, an HVAC company in Wichita.

Maria loved spending time in the backyard with her husband, daughter’s family and their dogs. She loved being outdoors enjoying nature and beautiful days. In her garden, planting peppers were a favorite. She loved cooking and always made an extra plate at the family cookouts. Maria loved God, and would always go to the Eucharist and pray on Fridays. Every day she woke with a grateful heart, always trying to avoid conflict. She was the life of every party with her unforgettable laugh. She always made you feel warm and loved. Maria’s co-worker commented how generous, kind and loving she always was. Always available to listen, no matter what it was. She gave advice when asked, and was always energetic, singing and dancing. She was very friendly, kind and always helping people. A hard worker and a friend you could ask for advice. Maria was always there for whoever needed her, never judging, always made you feel loved and welcomed. She put others first. Always a positive outlook on life. Her courageous heart will never be forgotten. Preceding Maria in death was her mother.

Those left to share her memory are her husband Art of their home in Wichita, her father Abdon Garza of Pasadena, TX, daughters Amaris Bermejo of Wichita, KS and Gabriela Bermejo of Denver, CO. Surviving siblings are Maria Alicia Ramirez and husband Cipriano of Pasadena, TX, Maria Antonia Moreno and husband Manuel of Chicago, IL, Abdon Garza Jr. and wife Rosa of Chicago, Il, and Catarino Garza of Chicago. Maria also is survived by 1 grandchild Miguel Angel Hernandez.
