Solomon, Melvin L., 86, retired Boeing Engineer, passed away Sept. 22, 2011. Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25; Mass, Monday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m. both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Melvin was an active member of Knights Of Columbus Council 4118 and Honor Guard. He was also active in the Men’s Club at St. Francis Church. He was most proud of his family. He loved to hunt, fish, snow ski, and water ski. He volunteered at the Lord’s Diner and loved Silver Sneakers at YMCA. Survivors: wife, Louise of Wichita; children, Karen (Gary) Mans of Wichita, Donna (Darrell) Tate of Latham, KS, Mary (Mark) Stafford of Wichita, Phyllis (Dan) Wolf of Mechanicsburg, PA., Carl J. (Angela) Solomon of Oswego, Stacey (Victor) Polley of Wichita; brother, Elmer Solomon of Pearl, MS.; sisters, Dorothy Geisler of Marshall, MO., Shirley Maurer of Mission Viejo, CA; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
