Norma Jean Clutter passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 21, 1931 to John and Exie Keller. She was the oldest of two children and her brother John always delighted giving her a hard time.
She graduated from North High and attended Wichita University. She married Jack L. Cutter on April 25, 1952. They were married for 67 years before his passing in 2020. She and Jack had three children Kenneth, Rex and Karen.
She worked for Watkins, Inc. and after the children were in grade school she went to work for the Wichita Board of Education and was an elementary school secretary for 25 and 1/2 years. She always felt she had the best job a person could have. As a young mother she enjoyed sewing for the whole family and with Jack were Youth Directors at their church. She was active in PTA and a den mother. She enjoyed all the children's activities and the family trips and camping and motorcycling in various states. The family was active in the Tornados Camping Club. The first activity with the club was at Kanapolis Lake where a tornado was endured. When the grandchildren started coming into her life, her life was complete. Oh, she did love the grandchildren and loved to teach them to swim in their pool even thought she never learned to swim herself. Square dancing was another popular venue that took she and Jack to several states with their friends. When she began to slow down antique cars became another family outing. Once again travel to many states in different old cars became quite a fun adventure. They traveled in style with a motor home pulling the car trailer. Her car was a 1934 5 window Ford Coupe.
When the pressure of life was too great she would dig in the dirt and vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers were the result. She reminded all that only God could have created such beautiful sunrises an sunsets and all the beauty of nature. She loved to travel but was always glad to get back to home in Kansas.
Her children and grandchildren and then great grandchildren were the highlights of her life. She was so proud of all of them. She also delighted baking their favorite Wackie cake.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Jack and her brother John Keller.
Norma is survived by her children Kenneth Clutter, Rex (Paula) Clutter and Karen (Jim) Fry, grandchildren Sabrina (Craig) Lindahl, Alan (Ali) Clutter, Kasie (Ty) Jones and Michael (Kristi) Fry and 14 precious great-grandchildren.
