

Robert R. Redd, 75, died at 9:53 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at 53rd and Meridian, in Wichita. Robert was born July 23, 1940, in Alva, Oklahoma and was a lifelong resident of Wichita, business owner, father, grandfather, neighbor, and friend. He was the President of R & R Spring Manufacturing, Inc. which he started with his father and his loving wife of 57 years. The business was started in the 1960’s after Robert served in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Redd, his daughters, Rachelle R. Eastep (Michael R.), Becky A. Thomas (Dan); Grandchildren, Samantha Bruce, Ashley Bornhorst, Hayden Bruce, and Paige Bornhorst, and special friend, Steven Gustafson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Redd and Evelyn J. Redd. Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2016 at the First Mennonite Brethren Church, 8000 W. 21st Street North, Wichita, with Pastor Brent presiding. Cremation has already occurred. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that a donation in Robert’s memory be made to First Mennonite Brethren Church, 8000 W. 21st Street North, Wichita, KS 67205.
