Such an awesome man of God. Always a pleasure to talk with him on Sunday’s. Never did he forget to ask how our daughter, Casey was doing and how hard of a worker John, our son-in-law was when he worked for him. Encouraged us that some day our children would return to the Lord. We had the great honor of substituting as his Sunday School teachers when Donna was out. What a sweet sweet spirit. We are gonna miss him terribly but know for sure he is with the One he served for many years.

Dearest friends and children of Bob Shellenberger: today I mourn with you at the passing of your father. Bob Shellenberger is a beloved friend of our family. Bob built 2 houses for us, but most importantly Bob exemplified Christ at all times; in his business, in his family, in his church and in his community. My father, Lewis Stark has always admired Bob as a friend with high moral character. The entire family of Bob and Bernadine represent pillars of faith in my home church of Wichita First Church of the Nazarene. You are all part of my Christian heritage for which I am eternally grateful. Thank you for your steadfast commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know your father and mother are now together rejoicing with our Lord, so very proud of all of you carrying on that legacy of strong faith. With sincere sympathy, Jo (Stark) Lamar & Coach Rocky Lamar

I have tears in my eyes knowing I won’t see his smiling face at church anymore as he has been part of my church family my entire life. Yet, my heart is so full of stories from my parents and memories of my own that I’ll always cherish.

My dad shared so many times about coming to know Christ and being guided as a new Christian by Mr & Mrs Shellenberger as members of their then newlywed Sunday School class. To think that our entire family’s road to heaven was paved by a man who shared his faith in Christ by teaching Sunday School.
Mr Shellenberger continually showed his genuine caring and kindness as he remembered even small details of my and my family’s lives each time we visited at church, my parents hospital rooms, and even while roofing my parents house.
To me he stood tall - head and shoulders above the rest. And not just in stature but in his gentle spirit, kindness, compassion for others more than himself , his smile, his art of conversation, and most of all his unwavering Faith in Christ that he shared with everyone in everything.
You have always been someone I looked up to and I will miss you.
To a life well lived!!
Enjoy heaven until we meet again my friend!!

To his wonderful family -
Cherish your memories.
Mr shellenberger was one of the best here on earth!
We will keep you in our prayers
Hold tight to God and He will hold tight to you!!
Until we all meet Jesus in heaven!!

Bob was a wonderfully kind and caring man who always took an interest in me and wanted to know what I was doing. Whenever I would see him, he would always recall where our lives crossed outside of the church walls. He demonstrated his quiet and gentle strength continually. It was always such a blessing to be able to visit with him at church whenever we were able to visit First Church. It’s true that our loss is Heaven’s gain. His smile, warmth and presence will be missed greatly. “Til we meet at Jesus’ feet.”

Bob was such a kind man. He always asked about my family and complimented me on what a wonderful group our kids are and how precious the grandgirlies are.
Condolences to your family. Praying for you all as you walk this valley together.
