Ruth E. Henessee, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend, passed peacefully on June 13, 2018. Born Ruth Elaine Riner on Nov 13, 1938 to Henry & Josephine Riner, “Ruthie” grew up the youngest of her large family on their rural Sumner County KS farm. Soon after high school, she married Gene Frame, together having two sons. After raising her children in nearby Clearwater, she eventually made Wichita her permanent home. She later married Dallas Henessee, remaining happily together and sharing much travel until his death in 2010. Despite many health challenges from childhood forward, she most prominently shared her life caring for others: nurturing her own family, both young and aging; serving with exceptional humanity in childcare, nursing home and private elder care sectors; and in retirement, taking joy as resident grandmother figure to host fun, creative activities for neighborhood youth. Ruth is especially remembered for her love of family, her immense human depth, and her tenacious survivor spirit, aptly dubbed “that Riner drive.” She will be missed by her son Robert Frame and wife Charlene of Wichita; son Timothy Frame and wife Carolyn, and grandchildren Leah and Jason Frame of Liberty MO; sister Mary Falconbridge of Wichita; and brother Harold Riner of Camdenton, MO, as well as extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to komenkansas.org, supporting the fight against breast cancer. Celebration of Life Service, Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens.
