Shannon Lee Campbell

How do you sum up the life of Shannon Lee Campbell, 57, of Park City, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on September 27, 2026, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. After a courageous and lengthy medical battle, he leaves his earthly body for his permanent home.

Shannon was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but primarily called California and Kansas his true homes. As the child of a U.S. Navy Sailor father, Shannon moved to or visited every continental state before his parents Gary and Pamela found home in Wichita, Kansas. Shannon often commented that he had a great life growing up with his parents and siblings, Travis and Michelle.

Shannon’s formative years were spent in Wichita, where he attended West High School and some college. When Shannon was 17, he met the love of his life, Lori, while working at Joyland. From there, they were inseparable. Shannon and Lori married in 1991 and had two wonderful children.

For those who knew Shannon, they knew of his patience, kindness, loyalty, and love. Shannon was always the funniest, quick-witted guy in the room, he would give you the shirt off his back (even if it was his only one left), and he cared immensely and deeply for the people in his life. Shannon’s love for his wife and children was shown through his constant dedication to attending every event or practice, putting them first, and supporting Lori through multiple battles with cancer.

Shannon loved to share stories about his life, was a great historian and conversationalist, he loved attending concerts, watching horror movies, and was willing to read any genre — but mostly loved horror novels and comics. He loved his coworkers and friends from Cessna (Textron Aviation) and continued sharing his love for those who impacted his life the most and his job long after he retired.

Shannon left lasting impressions on every person he met. During his children’s most impressionable years, he was always involved in coaching and supporting all the kids and families involved in sports, band, and other school activities. Many would still stop him in the grocery store or gas station just to say hello.

Shannon’s pride and joy became his grandchildren, who were blessed to have him as their primary childcare provider. He spent the days as their “pop-pop,” playing outside, reading books, and teaching them about real, true rock-and-roll music. He loved his “babies” and being with them every day.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gary LeRoy Campbell, his mother, Pamela Jenenne Campbell (both of Wichita); brother, Travis Campbell (Wichita); aunt Bonita and uncle Gary Coon (Hutchinson); father-in-law Louis “Pa” Ketron (Park City).

He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 40 years (married 35), Lori Diane Campbell (Ketron); son Jacob Scott (Andrea) Campbell; daughter Marissa Nicole (Russell) Gardner; grandchildren Vaelin and Autumn Gardner; granddaughter Wrenley Campbell — expected October 2026; sister Michelle Campbell and godson Angel; nephew Caleb Campbell and his daughter Calliope Campbell; uncle Dale (Helen) Foster; many beloved cousins; mother-in-law Diana Ketron; brother-in-law Chris (Kimberly) Ketron; sister-in-law Shana (Don) Padgett; nephews Skyler and Sam (Adrienne) Ketron; niece Morgan Padgett; and chosen family Marsha (Jeff) Phillips.

Shannon will be remembered and in the hearts of his closest loved ones every day. From watching his willow tree grow, sitting on the porch and feeling the breeze, sharing excitement about a new movie or song being released, or simply sharing stories about our lives. He truly was woven into each and every one of us.
