Sharon E. Thompson

Sharon E. Thompson, 74, Retired Sales Manager for Sears, passed away on February 2, 2021. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 19, 1946 to Alfred N. and Wanetha (McPherson) Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dewayne. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Christopher(Ben Hoffman) of Topeka, KS, Kelsey (Brett) Metzinger of Wichita; her son, Cory (Stephanie) Thompson of San Antonio, TX; her brother, Gary (Jan) Hart of Wichita; and 4 grandchildren: Wil, Joe, Julie and Colby. Sharon was a single mom who worked tirelessly to raise her three children, which then continued into the years she spent caring for her elderly parents. Sharon loved to spend time with her family and delighted in her frequent road trips during her retirement years to visit relatives. She gave generously to causes ranging from the Kansas Food Bank and the National Police and Troopers Association to the Union Rescue Mission and YMCA. From helping out in her daughter's shop, sewing quilts and making crafts, finding great recipes to make for family gatherings to simply letting out her "granddogs" each day, she found her greatest joy in doing for others. There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202.
