Sharron and I came together over a love of paper crafting and card making.  She shared her love of nature with me... teaching me how to attract Baltimore Orioles to my yard, and share my excitement at spotting new species.  She passed on her passion for day lilies to me.  When my daughter's new home revealed unusual blooms Sharron was quick to identify them and share tips on how to help them flourish.  She even generously sent me  some bulbs  that are still growing in my yard.  I will always think of her when I see them bloom.  She touched my life and always reminded me to appreciate the simple things.  I will miss her greatly. 

Sharron has been my friend since 1978 when I joined the Kansas City Zoo docents.  We shared many interests including bird watching and basket weaving. I have saved many of her lovely hand made cards. 
She was a gentle loving person who will be missed by many especialy me.

Sharron and I were connected by our love of paper - in the form of hand-made greeting cards!  We became friends through a little group of 12 card-makers called The 12 Kits of Occasions.  Sharron made the first Kit I received - it was so full of gorgeous bird papers!   I HAD to call to tell her!  We quickly found so many things in common.
My husband and I 'bloom' butterflies, and if you knew Sharron, you know how many of their darling wings she tagged - though I never got brave enough to do it myself!  She and I had many conversations over what to do when 'this' happens, or should I do 'that.'  Even phone conversations just to let her know our numbers... it doesn't seem like we ever ran out of things to talk about.
Harry and  my husband Tom are both bird lovers, so it wasn't hard for the four of us to fill an hour or three over lunch the ONE lucky day we were able to actually meet 'for reals!'  I'll cherish those hugs forever, my sweet friend, and think of you with every butterfly that blooms, and send my love to you On Papillon Wings.  
We're still available for birding in Michigan, Harry, when and if you'd like to take that drive!

I worked with Sharon for many years at WUG. Sharon shared her love of daylilies and started me on my collection throughout the years. She was always very kind to me and she will be missed by many.  

I worked with Sharron at Wichita Urology for several years. She was a kind hearted wonderful friend. I have several day lilies in my yard that she gave me and they always remind me of her. We had our love of animals in common, and talked about our dogs often. I will miss her smile. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Sharon and I met as new docents at the Sedgwick County Zoo sharing many training experiences. Always a smile on her face.  Her focus was always on improving the outreach of her joy of animals to others through education. 

I’m sure Sharon will be missed by those that met her. Rest In Peace 

I always enjoyed working with sharron at WUG. Prayers to Sharrons family and friends. 

Sharron and I went on many ZooReach programs together. I do not think the  special needs programs for Derby Schools would have run as smoothly without her. During the drives to and from the programs we talked about family and experiences. She was a special Zoo friend.
