Toni was born on December 16, 1967, in Wichita, KS to Walter Corby and Trudy Parrish. After graduating from Campus High School and Wichita State University, she began her 25-year career in corrections, retiring from the US Probation Office in 2017.
Toni was best known as a fiercely independent woman, with an incredibly funny, quick witted sense of humor and generous heart. From childhood classrooms to federal courtrooms; she could bring a smile to those around her, with a sarcastic comment or not so well hidden eye roll. Yet, she never forgot a birthday or special event and made sure those in her life knew how much she cared for and appreciated them.
Spending time with family, friends, and her beloved Buttons was Toni’s greatest joy. Her house is filled with pictures of time spent with her cherished nieces and nephews, vacations with family/friends, and of course, Buttons…dressed in various outfits.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
Toni is survived by her mother, Trudy Parrish; Stepfather, Wes Downey; Best Friend, Cindy Holcomb; Brother, Marshall Cox; Nieces and Nephews, Brett Corby, Sara Cox, Adam Cox, Emma Cox; Great-Niece, Shiloh Whitsitt; Sister in law, Crystal Brown; Aunts, Judy Parrish and Sandra Johnson; Uncle, Robert Parrish, and many loving cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Corby.
Per Toni’s wishes, there will be no service. Therefore, her family would greatly appreciate everyone celebrating Toni’s life, by sharing a favorite memory or story in the memories section of this page. Thank you!
