Anthony Leonard LoRusso Sr., 86, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at Autumn Lake of Waterbury. Born on August 3, 1939, he was the beloved husband of Shirley (Bassett) LoRusso for 65 wonderful years.
Anthony was the son of the late Nicholas and Frances (Marino) LoRusso. A proud and dedicated mechanical draftsman, he worked for Bristol Babcock for over 26 years and another 25 years at Aaron Associates, where he contributed his talents to the design of numerous complex projects, including water treatment facilities and fish hatcheries across the region.
Beyond his professional achievements, Anthony was a man of many passions. He found great joy in riding his motorcycle and was a gifted craftsman and carpenter. His handiwork can be seen in the birdhouses, Adirondack chairs, and custom signage he lovingly built for family, friends, and organizations throughout the Wolcott community.
Anthony had a rare gift for connection—an all-around great guy who made friends wherever he went. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and craftsmanship that touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted wife Shirley; his children, Nicholas and his wife Susan, Anthony Jr. and his wife Maria, and son Tod; his cherished grandchildren Daniel, Domenic, and Holly; and great-grandchildren Nicholas and Lucas. He is also survived by his loving sisters Virginia Nadeau and her husband Joseph, and Margaret Garthwait and her husband Bruce, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Anthony was predeceased by his grandson Anthony “Tony”, and his brother John.
