Beverly Ann Hollis

Born on November 6, 1936, in Waterbury, CT, Beverly was the daughter of the late Oscar and Grace (Andrews) Mulonet. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Hollis, who predeceased her in 2021.

Beverly was a spirited and active woman whose passion for movement and creativity left a lasting mark on all who knew her. She dedicated many years of her life as a Physical Education teacher in the Naugatuck Public Schools, where she inspired generations of students with her enthusiasm and commitment to wellness.

A gifted athlete in her youth, Beverly played competitive softball for over 15 years with the renowned Raybestos Brakettes—a team that famously beat the New York Yankees in a scrimmage game, a highlight that she often recalled with pride. She was also a longtime member of the Pequabuck Golf Club, enjoying the sport and friendships there for over 50 years. In her artistic life, Beverly found joy and peace as an Impressionist painter, working with oil paints and pastels to create beautiful and expressive pieces that reflected her love for nature and color.

Beverly is survived by her devoted daughter, Sherri Conroy, and her husband Richard; her brother Bob Taylor and his wife Wendy; brother-in-law Lawrence Williams; her cherished grandchildren, Bethany Hart and Benjamin Dubar-Conroy and his wife Emili; and her treasured great-granddaughters, Nona and Zeta Hart. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman, and her sister, Carol Williams.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, with a sharing of memories beginning at 6:30 PM. Interment will follow on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11 AM at Edgewood Cemetery, Boundline Road, Wolcott, where Beverly will be laid to rest along with her beloved husband Norman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
