Florence Duhamel

Born in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Corentin and Mary (LeMeur) Duigou. She was the office administrator and nurse at the Larkin Clinic on Chase Avenue in Waterbury for many years. A graduate of Sacred Heart High School, she continued her education after retirement and received her BA degree from Central Connecticut State University at the age of seventy-five. A founding member of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott, she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies.

She leaves a son, Mark (Francesca) Duhamel, Pound Ridge, NY and four daughters, Susan Gately, Lewes, DE, Diane DiPietro (Tony), Peoria, AZ, Janice (Barry) Silberstein, Palm Harbor, FL and Claudia Duhamel, Watertown; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 9:30 AM at St. Basil the Great Church, 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott has been entrusted with the arrangements.
