

Born on April 25, 1938, in Connor, ME, he was the son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Perreault) Damboise Sr. Gilford was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and lived a life dedicated to both his family and his passions.
Gilford retired in 1994 after 30 years of service at Berlin Steel. He found great joy in his retirement, especially in his love for gardening and landscaping. He was known for his green thumb, often tending to his many flowers, and ran a small landscaping business mowing lawns—a job he truly enjoyed. A skilled craftsman, Gilford was also an avid builder of model houses and loved working with his hands.
In addition to his beloved wife, Rachael, he is survived by his children, Kevin Damboise and Kimberly Albert (husband David), both of Wolcott; and his two cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Melony Albert, also of Wolcott. He is also survived by his brother, Bernard Damboise of Caribou, ME; six sisters: Alma Ouellette of Winterport, ME, Avis Parent of Terryville, Mabel Strid of Caribou, ME, Mildred Chamberlain of Seminole, FL, Linda Corey Dubois of Mesa, AZ, and Nancy Hussey of Frankfort, ME; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by three brothers, Melvin, Richard and Leo Jr.
Gilford was known for his warm heart, dedication to his family, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and an enduring sense of family.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 25th from 3pm -5:30 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Military honors and a funeral home service will begin at 5:30 pm. Burial will be privately held with his family.
