

Wolcott, CT – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jane Marie Murphy Gould, who left us on February 10, 2025. Born on June 27, 1942, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, Jane was the daughter of the late Donald and Muriel Murphy.
Jane was known for her unwavering devotion to her family and her deep faith. She led a life of selflessness, always ready to offer a helping hand to those in need. A dedicated parishioner at All Saints' Episcopal Church for many years, Jane contributed her time and talents to the church community, living out her faith through action. She had a profound love for children, serving as a mentor and educator at Wolcott High School, where she prepared and guided students with great care and compassion.
Her warmth, kindness, and enduring support will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas A. Gould of Wolcott, her sister Linda Cariello of Wallingford; and her children: Lisa Gould Pytka (Jan) of Waterbury, Thomas J. Gould (Lisa) of Wolcott, and Michael J. Gould (Emily) of Plantsville. She was the proud grandmother of Jamie, Robert, Joshua, Glenn, Tyler, Samantha, Gaines, Graydon, and Griffin, and a cherished great grandmother to Chloe, Gannon, Ronin, and Priscilla.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her brother Carroll Murphy, her sister Barbra Gay, and her granddaughter Sarah Jane Gould Bassett, as well as her nephew Steven Gorman and niece Cathy Gorman. She will also be missed dearly by her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Jane's legacy of love, kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
