WOLCOTT- John D’Occhio, 82, beloved husband of 59 years of Barbara (Yannielli) D’Occhio passed away peacefully on Sunday at the Cheshire House in Waterbury. Born in Waterbury on January 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Pellegrino and Giocondina (Perugina) D’Occhio. He worked at Stop & Shop as a meat cutter for 34 years. He and his wife have lived in Wolcott since 1963. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and fan of UCONN Women’s and men’s basketball. He was known to be meticulous about his gardening and yardwork. Besides his wife Barbara he leaves a daughter Deanna D’Occhio and her fiancé Michael Quattro of Waterbury, sister Josephine DiSantis of Middlebury, brothers Victor D’Occhio of Waterbury, Cosimo and his wife Wendy D’Occhio of FL, his brother –in-law Carmen Yannielli of Wolcott, and several nieces and nephews. Walk through calling hour will be Wednesday 9 to 10 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Burial will be private. Visit for online condolences.
