

earthly realm on February 22, 2022. Lena was kind and loving to all and unwaveringly dedicated to her extended family. One of the three DiStefano sisters (Lucy, Lena and Mary) who brought the greatest of joy and laughter that will never be forgotten by friends and family, both here and beyond. May she rest in the holy grace of the Lord with whom she loved so much. Amen.
The daughter of Grace and Joseph DiStefano from Catania, Sicily, who migrated to Waterbury,
CT, where Lena was born on May 16, 1929. She worked her entire career as an executive
assistant for the State of Connecticut in various departments and had been retired for 41 years.
Her assignments included several years with Ella Grasso as Secretary of State and John R.
Manson, Commissioner of Corrections.
Lena is predeceased by two sisters, Lucy DiLeo and Mary DiLeone, and one brother, Sebastian
DiStefano. She was loved by her son, Fred Joseph Napolitano, currently of Austin, TX
and Lin C. Napolitano, of Cheshire, CT and their three children ( Lena’s grandchildren ),
Ryan Napolitano of Fuengirola, Spain, Jessica (Napolitano) Foster, of Bryn Mawr, PA and Jordan Napolitano, of Plantsville, CT. “GG Lena” was loved by her 2 great grandchildren, Grayson ( 5 ) and Sloane ( 2 ), and their father, Dominic Foster, all of Bryn Mawr, PA.
“Aunt Lena” was adored by her nieces and nephews, Joseph DiLeo (predeceased), Rosemary
(DiLeo) Fleming, Grace Anne (DiLeone) McKenna, John DiLeo, Maria ( DiLeone ) Meehan,
and Toni (DiLeone) O’Connell and all their children and their respective spouses, Penny
DiLeo, Jim Fleming, Bob McKenna (predeceased), Martin Meehan and Mary DiLeo. Darlene
Cipriani and the Cipriani family, of Trumbull, CT, and Ryan’s future spouse, Maria Fernandez,
lovingly shared in Lena’s life. Lena was given loving and compassionate care for the past three
years by her caregiver and friend, Nancy Manke.
Lena was an avid Yankee and UConn Women’s basketball fan.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 28th at 9 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 S. Main St., Waterbury for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
