Robert G. "Bob" Goad

WOLCOTT- Robert G. Goad “Bob”, 91, husband of Margery (Tuttle) (Reichenbach) Goad, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22nd at Waterbury Hospital with his two daughters by his side. Bob was predeceased by his first wife of 38 years Mary (Pirro) Goad and has son Keith Goad. Bob was born on February 24, 1929 to Lawrence and Hermine (Rheaume) Goad in St. Albans, VT. He grew up on a farm and enjoyed sharing his childhood memories with his family. He was a high school football star playing both offense and defense. He was called “Tiger” as he was quite an aggressive player. He served in the US Air Force as a staff sergeant. In 1953 he became a machinist and worked in several factories. He worked hard all of his life. He loved to bowl with his wife Margery. He won several awards for his perfect “300” games. He also loved to work out at the gym which continued into his 90’s. He was often referred to as “grandfather” at the gym where he was an inspiration to the younger members. In addition to his wife Margery, Bob is survived by his two daughter Doreen (Richard) Thomas and Marcy (Jeff) Levesque. He also leaves behind his grandchildren whom he adored: Benjamin J. Thomas, Emmalee and Rebecca Levesque, and Autumn Goad, a great grandson Alexander David Thomas who was the light of his life. Bob also leaves behind his step children Karen (Antonio) Leite, Mark (Susan) Reichenbach, Lori (Jeff) Peck, Marlene Devito and Brenda Siwanowicz. Bob’s family would like to extend a very special thanks to the loving and compassionate caregivers who gave their all during his last days: Stacia RN who was his home care nurse, Anna Marie RN from the Harbor, Talia, Jen, Allie, and Michelle from Waterbury Hospital. Words cannot express how grateful we are for your kindness. Many Blessings to all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31st, at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church/ St. Basil The Great Parish 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, CT. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a calling hour Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott.
