

Sheila was the daughter of the late Donald Adamek Sr., and Judith Mulligan Rosenthal of Wolcott, CT. She was the oldest of three siblings, and leaves behind her sister, Carol Mazzucco, and her husband, John Mazzucco of Woodbury, CT. Sheila was predeceased by her brother, Donald Adamek Jr., of Waterbury. Sheila also leaves her aunt, Carol (Richard) Plantier, and aunt, Sandra Conrey, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by her beloved dogs, Winston and Margot, who brought her so much joy and companionship.
A lifelong resident of Wolcott, Sheila graduated from Wolcott High School and attended Southern Connecticut State University. She was an accomplished athlete and loved playing field hockey, basketball, and softball. Her competitive spirit, and love of sports remained with her throughout her life, and she especially enjoyed watching sporting events and sharing those moments with friends and family.
Sheila retired from UPS after many years of dedicated work and also spent time working at Home Depot. Outside of work, she found happiness in the simple things she loved most. She had a deep appreciation for horticulture and loved spending time outdoors, working in her yard and caring for her plants. Sheila was a creative person with a curious mind, and loved imagining all the places she might travel and experience someday. She especially enjoyed visiting Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Sheila was known for her fun-loving personality, contagious laugh, and dimpled smile. She cherished the time she spent with her friends and family, and had a way of making those around her feel comfortable and welcomed. Her laughter, creativity, love of life, and the memories she created with those she loved will remain with them always.
In Sheila’s memory, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DellaVecchia Funeral Home. In honoring Sheila's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
