

Shirley (Berube) Ouellette passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 peacefully surrounded by her family and wrapped in a quilt handmade by her mother close to a century ago. She was the beloved wife of Jean G. Ouellette for 64 years.
She was born on September 12, 1937 in Limestone, Maine, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward Berube and Ida (Fontaine) Berube.
Shirley moved to Waterbury after high school and worked for many years at Colonial Bank & Trust. She later worked for and eventually retired from Winchester Electronics. She returned to college to get an associates degree in accounting in 1991. Shirley enjoyed being a mom, oil painting, and absolutely loved her pets, especially her dog “Missy”.
She is survived by her husband Jean, brother Eugene Berube, many nieces and nephews including Ryan, Joshua and Megan Elphick, to whom she was “Noni”.
She was predeceased by her sons, Michael and Mark Ouellette, her sisters Dorothy Lebel, Theresa Emond and brothers Roger, Wilfred, Remy, Harry, Frederick, Paul and Albert Berube.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 17th, 9-11a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, with a prayer service following at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will conclude services in Edgewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Wolcott VFW Post 1979, 1115 Wolcott Rd., Wolcott, CT 06716 in memory of her son, Michael, would be appreciated.
