She was born to the late Dewie and Mattie Lay King in Creekmore, Kentucky on July 15, 1931.
Lavada worked at Hillcreek Nursing Home as a Certified Medication Technician and was a member of the Eastern Star in Fairdale. She was the Queen of crocheting and with her heart of gold would give away potholders she made to complete strangers. Lavada enjoyed watching the Game Show Network and had a large collection of angels. Her love for the Kentucky Wildcats was STRONG and she never missed a game.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years; Glenn H. Witt, and children; Diana Kay Grooms and Rick Witt.
Left to cherish the memory of Lavada are her sons; Harold Witt (Judy) and Kevin Witt (Deborah), son-in-law; Frank Grooms, 11 grandchildren; Kim, Kelli, Alecia, Joshua, Jessica, Leslie, Lauren, Jessica, Jerame, Ricky and Dawson, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sister; Yvonne Oerther (Bill), brothers; Silas King (Carol) and Tommy King, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of life for Lavada will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031 with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, KY. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations can be made in Lavada's name to WHAS Crusade for Children.
