Sara Guzman Esparza: Born on March 13th, 1965 to Roberto Meno Guzman and Esperanza Michaela Camacho Baez. The second born of twins, at General Hospital in Los Angeles, she shared her loving family with her brothers and sister: Marcos Guzman, Roberto Guzman II, Sandra Trevino, and David Guzman. She was the beloved mother of three children, Sandra Esparza-Rios, Kenneth Esparza, and Christopher Esparza, and a grandmother to three, Ariel, Joey, and Mason, and deeply missed by her soulmate of 15 years, Steven Espinoza. From childhood growing up in City Terrace and East Los Angeles, she lived the philosophy of speaking up and letting her voice be known, never letting anything bring down her bright, nonchalant personality, and caring for those she held dear to her heart. Her family fondly remember her uses of silly phrases and songs: “Someone’s knocking on the door. Someone’s ringing the bell. Do me a favor, Open the door, and let ‘em in.”, “Holla!”, or her acting out her cute animal noises to the delight of her grandchildren and loving embarrassment of her grown children. She idolized Lucille Ball and owned a tremendous amount of “I Love Lucy” collectables, purses, and a variety of different antique items that brought great joy to her. She loved getting dressed up in her makeup and wearing fun wigs or outfits, going out to dance clubs, and taking pictures of herself, nature, her home, and animals. She was never shy, always being the life of the party with her laughter filling the room and starting off the dancing with anyone she could pull onto the floor. She was a storyteller, a jokester, a dancer, a photographer, and a true mother at heart, with love for all of her family, young and old. “We always believed that we don’t ever want to let those in our family go and we know that we will all be together again, no matter what.”
