Ruth Margie Collier at the age of 94, finally met Jesus face to face. She passed away peacefully at home at 4:30 a.m. on January 27, 2021 (exactly one month before her 95th birthday). The cause of death was congestive heart failure.
She was born on February 27, 1926, in Houston, Texas, but spent most of her adult life living in La Palma, California. One of the highlights of her life was the two years she spent living and working in Yosemite before she was married. She always said “I felt close to God there.” She remained in close touch with friends she knew then. She met our sweet dad, Dan, in 1951, on a road trip to Alaska with her sister and brother-in-law. Within 30 days they fell in love and were married three months later. This November 23rd they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. In her earlier years, she worked as a comptometer operator, took school pictures, and at one time owned her own temporary service agency, Action Temporaries. Most of all, Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family – her 4 kids and her 6 granddaughters. She was always up for a good time, loved to play games, and get together with friends. She loved life and had a strong desire to remain engaged with her family and friends until the end. She had a tender heart toward those less fortunate. She was a woman of integrity, faith, and generosity. her family and friends will always hold her in high regard and cherish sweet memories of time spent together. “Until we meet again… we love you!”
She is survived by her four children – William Collier (Aurora, CO), Steve Collier (Moreno Valley, CA), Kathleen Collier (La Palma, CA), and Christine Collier Morrell (Anaheim Hills, CA)… and her six granddaughters – Meghan Collier Hernandez (Los Angeles, CA), Brittany Collier (Vista, CA), Aimee Collier (Anaheim, CA), Jenny Collier Roberts (Bozeman, MT), Lexi Morrell (Anaheim Hills, CA), and Nickolette Morrell (Anaheim Hills, CA).
A private graveside service will be held at Loma Vista Memorial Park (701 E. Bastanchury Rd, Fullerton, 92835) on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:30am. A “socially distant” backyard Celebration of Life will immediately follow (1:00-4:00) at 7782 Laurelwood Lane, La Palma, Ca. 90623. Please join us in honoring our dear mother.
