He was the son of the late Vinson David Humphreys and Lil Mae Mercer Humphreys, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Thomas Humphreys, two sons, Jamie Lynn Humphreys, Daniel Bryan Humphreys and three siblings.
Johnny graduated from Samford University and was a pharmacist for nearly 60 years. His passion was playing golf and hanging out with his buddies at Brown Acres. He was a big Tennessee Vols fan.
He was a member of Calvary Bible Church where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Humphreys, of Ooltewah, TN, two children, David Humphreys, of Chattanooga, TN, Joni Humphreys Evatt (John), of Harrison, TN, two step children, Jamie Brindley (David), of Gallatin, TN, Rob Heard (Jenny), of Harrison, TN, four grandchildren, Corey and Ian Evatt, Rachel Akins, Carmen Hall, eight step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 22, 2021, at Lakewood Memory Gardens – East with Rev. Bill Henry officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
