David Alexander Cantrell, age 65, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Oakhurst Golf Course, Kingwood. Surrounded by friends and doing what he loved, David had just hit a birdie on the first hole and another one on the 6th hole.
David studied Industrial Engineering at University of North Alabama and Industrial Engineering Technology at Southern Tech of Georgia. Straight out of university, David found his second family when he moved to Saudi Arabia and worked for Tradco Vulcan. David came back to the U.S for a short while where he met the love of his life, Renata (McCray) Cantrell and had a daughter, Alexandria Yost Cantrell. David promised a dear friend he would work 30 years for the Khalifa Algosaibi Group where he became the General Manager. As the President of the American Business Association, Eastern Province of Saudi Araba, David was a champion of U.S./Saudi Arabia business commerce.
David was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 27, 1955 as the fourth child of Reverend James Samuel Cantrell and Mary Ernestine (Williams) Cantrell.
David is survived by wife Renata; daughter Allie; brothers James S. (Linda) Cantrell, Jon Cantrell; sister Mary Eleanor (Richard) Trucks; nephews Rich (Jen) Trucks, Jim (Lindsay) Trucks, Trevor (Meredith) Cantrell; nieces Amalee Smith, Mary Rebekah Trucks, Laura Beth Trucks, Marlena Cantrell; mother-in-law Betty Yost McCray; sisters-in-law Susan (Ron) McCray-King, Cheryl (Pat) McLaren; brother-in-law James McCray; nephews Trinity King, Joshua McLaren, Luke McLaren, Tyler McCray, Matthew McCray, Chandler McCray; niece, Heather (Nick) McLaren Bolser.
David was preceded in death by his parents; sister Emily Smith; brother-in-law David Smith; sister-in-law Carmell Cantrell; father-in-law Rockford McCray; brother-in-law Kirk McCray; sister-in-law Sandy McCray.
