Harry W. “Smokey” Smith, Jr., 76, of Hebron passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born April 29, 1944 in Salisbury and was the son of the late Bill and Grace Smith
He was employed by General Motors at the GMAC office in Salisbury, MD. He was a member of Nelsons Memorial Church. A lifetime member of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department having held the office of Vice President and Chief Engineer. He also volunteered at PRMC and was a lifetime member there as well.
He is survived by his wife Gail, two daughters, Crystal Smith of Delaware, and Jennifer Marshall (Brian) of Cambridge, MD and grandsons, Blake and Justin Marshall. A brother, M.J. Smith (Margaret) of Hebron, a sister, Melody Wright (Russell) of Harrington, DE and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Pollitt.
A Celebration of Smokey’s Life will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 1pm at Nelsons Memorial Church in the Samuel Phillips Building on Main St. in Hebron. A walk thru visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Riley.
