Monica Chavez was born to Gregorio Navarro and Maria de Leon Trevino on May 4, 1925, in Los Alamos, Texas. She was the last of seven children having passed from this earth on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She married Trinidad Chavez, Sr. (her soldado) the love of her life, in 1946 after his return from Europe having served his country during WWII. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1996.
Monica entered the work force at age 13 and held numerous jobs. The job she most loved was as a private care giver because she loved caring for the elderly. She was a very good seamstress; loved doing yardwork and enjoyed her flowers and plants.
Monica is survived by one son, Trinidad Chavez, Jr. of Colorado City; five daughters, Janie Garcia of Colorado City, Irene (Domingo) Rosas of Midland, Diana Finley (Landus) of Colorado City, Anita Weatherford (Mark) of Hot Springs, AR, and Veronica Parham of Colorado City.
