Son of Bertha and Ernest Gensler he received an undergraduate degree from New York University and his Medical Degree from Einstein College of Medicine. Stan served as Captain in the Army Medical Corps in Vietnam, after which time he settled in Massapequa. It was his home for over 50 years. During this time, he became Chief of Surgery at Brunswick General Hospital.
He and his wife created a home for family and friends alike, open to one and all. He was a member of the Massapequa Buildings and Grounds Committee and volunteered for many years in his children’s and grandchildren’s classrooms. He also volunteered at Mounts Botanical Gardens and Meyer Academy in West Palm Beach.
Stan leaves behind his best friend and wife of almost 57 years, Rosemary and his three children, Susan (Evan), Hilary (John) and David (Jennifer) as well as his grandchildren: Becca, Aaron, Zachary, Samantha, Hayley, Jacob, Annabelle, Caroline and Mollie. He is also survived by his brother, Marvin (Patty) and his sister, Harriet (Walter).
Stanley’s death is a tremendous loss to his family and friends. He touched countless lives in countless ways and will be sorely missed by all.
