She's survived by her husband, Douglas Brown; her children, Joung Min Chae, and Sarah and Joshua Brown; her grandson, Julian Trujillo; and her sister, Kyong Im Yi.
Kyong was born in Chuncheon, South Korea, on April 25th, 1963, and moved to the United States in 1988. She moved from Colorado to Hawaii to finally making her way to Killeen, Texas, with her husband and two younger kids in 1994. She was a barber for 23 years and ended her career at a local shop, Hope Barber Shop.
Kyong found comfort in Killeen when she found her Korean community, especially at her church. She attended St. Luke United Methodist Church and loved volunteering in her free time with other local mission groups.
In her spare time, Kyong loved to cook and be outside. She enjoyed traveling and always documented her adventures. She was a devoted wife and mother and showed her love for her family by cooking for them until the very end.
