Mother Dorothy E. Rayson Hall was born March 3, 1929 in Carthage, TX - "Hollands Quarter" Community. She was born to Herman and Levenia (Adams) Rayson who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her five siblings: Dimple, Lee, Prince, Nell and Johnnie.
Mother Hall attended school in Beckville and Carthage, TX and was a noted HS basketball athlete.
She attended "Bee Dew" Beauty College (Detroit, MI) and worked in the beauty industry for 30 years. She worked at Weingarten's Store (bakery) and later Saks Fifth Avenue as a manicurist.
She was united in holy matrimony to Phil Hall, Jr. who preceded her in death. To this union 3 children were born. One son, Bobby Darrell, preceded her in death.
Mother Hall accepted Christ at Bailey Temple COGIC (Detroit, MI). She joined 8th Street COGIC. After the death of Pastor B.C. Simmons she became a founding member of New Life (currently New Life Tabernacle) COGIC. She worked faithfully under the leadership of the late Pastor N.H. Henderson. In her later years, she joined Buck Street Memorial COGIC and served for more than 25 years under Superintendent Pinkston Bell. She relocated to Carrollton, TX and united with Dominion Word Ministries COGIC (Denton, TX) under the pastoral leadership of Elder Michael L. McWilliams.
She worked in ministry in various capacities including Program Coordinator, Choir (8th Street), Anniversary Chairperson (New Life), Sunday School Teacher, Building Fund Committee, Missions Department, Deaconess' Board (President), Mother's Board, Texas South Central Christian Women's Council.
Mother Hall went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2021. She lived for this day and leaves on record a life and a praise which will not soon be forgotten. She leaves love and memories that will never fade with: her daughters, Jan Hall (Carrollton, TX) and Sandra Hall-Ross (Houston, TX); granddaughters Kalyn Ja'nese and Lauren Ashley Ross; grand-dog, Bert Lee; bonus blessings Roy (Ann) Hall, Perry(Ondranetta) Hall, Leona Faye Hall-Washington(Charles); SISTER-in-love, Marjorie Rayson; Special Cousin, Daniel Lee Walls; Best Friend, Ora Lee Barnes Robinson; God-given daughter, Gail O'Neal; a beautiful community of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends and church community.
